- You'll want a large indoor space, especially when you have long lenses to map
- Grid should be mounted on a stable, flat vertical surface - bring a level to ensure the grid is dead level
- The camera needs to be mounted on a dolly at the same height as the grid center and leveled
- You'll defintely want to avoid shadows or highlights obscuring your grid lines
- Request a monitor vs. the camera eyepiece. And make sure you are seeing and filling full ap
- Your life will be made easier by using a dolly with the leveled camera aimed directly center of grid
- Again, it's vital to fill the full ap area with the grid - not just your framing chart - we find a decent sized monitor is quite handy
- Work your way from the widest prime to longest prime then move over to your compound lenses
- We generally grid each focal length mark on a zoom lens
