Zero VFX is looking for a Systems Engineering Lead to join its IT and Development team. The right candidate will be excited to grow the company as it evolves for the future of VFX technologies, remote work, and scalable infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have:

- 5+ years of experience in information technology serving as a system and/or network engineer, and experience crafting end-to-end engineering and security documentation in the form of reference architecture, workflows, and operational guidelines, preferably in the media & entertainment industry
- Solid grasp of infrastructure, software, service, and hardware concepts including; Network theory and services (TCP/IP, UDP/IP OSI, DNS, DHCP), Local and networked filesystems (NFS, SMB, DFS, NTFS)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across software and hardware for performance and reliability

We are looking for someone who thrives in a team environment, while demonstrating initiative, self-reliance, and a high standard for quality. Core responsibilities include:

- Interact with development and production teams to architect secure, efficient workflows and underlying architecture
- Test new technologies to evolve existing workflows; develop and execute proof-of-concept test casesDeploy and manage technology solutions to standardize secure deployment of systems and automate manual processes managed by technology team
- Extract sophisticated concepts into concise, concrete, and actionable plans for company stakeholders
- Partner with Production to ensure alignment with the overall mission of Zero VFX.

Experience in the following areas is preferred:

- Experience using or supporting studio technologies such as Deadline, Shotgrid, Nuke, Maya, and other post production specific software
- Experience supporting storage appliances and file systems such as ZFS, LVM, and RAID
- Experience supporting and securing remote graphics solutions such as Teradici and Windows RDPConfiguration and maintenance of firewalls, network switches, workstations, and servers
- Configuration of studio technologies against content security requirements (TPN, MPA)
- Administering directory services such as Active Directory, LDAP, and Open DirectoryWorking knowledge of multi-factor authentication technologies and implementation
- Scripting with bash and python

Experience in the following areas is not required but is favorably considered:

- Familiarity of AWS architecture and system design with a desire to expand knowledge of operations, security and automation in a cloud environment
- Experience using compliance and vulnerability management technologies such as Tenable and NMAP
